A warm welcome to students from Italy
Un caloroso benvenuto agli studenti internazionali provenienti dall’Italia!
The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) is a global leader in public health and infectious disease research. With students, staff, and alumni from over 190 countries, we are proud to have a vibrant community of international students who contribute to our academic excellence and global perspective. This page provides specific information for applicants from Italy, including entry requirements, programmes on offer, and support available to help you thrive at LSHTM.
LSHTM has established strong research connections with institutions across Italy, particularly in maternal and child health, climate and urban health, and health systems strengthening. We collaborate with the WHO Collaborating Centre for Maternal and Child Health in Trieste to improve care quality and inform global health policy. Italian cities including Rome, Milan and Turin are part of the Multi-Country Multi-City (MCC) Collaborative Research Network, led by LSHTM, which investigates the health impacts of climate change and air pollution in urban environments. LSHTM also works with Italian academic partners to strengthen public health research capacity in Southern Europe, including joint efforts in mapping health research systems.
Italian students are a valued part of our global community, and we welcome those looking to contribute to public and global health through research, policy and practice.

Student life and experience
"I chose LSHTM because of its prestige as global leader in public health research and its dedication to decolonizing global health. What I did not expect, however, was finding such a stimulating, inclusive and multicultural environment."
