Education agents

At the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), we are committed to upholding the highest standards in our engagement with international education agents.

As part of this commitment, LSHTM has signed the UK Agent Quality Framework (AQF) Pledge, developed by the British Universities’ International Liaison Association (BUILA) in collaboration with the British Council. The AQF sets out a shared vision for responsible, high-quality agent partnerships that support prospective students in making informed decisions about studying in the UK.

About the AQF

The Agent Quality Framework (AQF) is a UK-wide initiative designed to enhance the experience of international students working with education agents. It helps ensure that agents have accurate knowledge of the UK education system and visa processes, and supports good practice, transparency and accountability across the sector.

Our commitment

LSHTM works with a small number of carefully selected education agents to support our postgraduate student recruitment. We fully endorse the principles of the AQF, including:

  • empowering student choice and enabling informed decision-making
  • ensuring good agent governance and professionalism
  • promoting ethical agent practices, professional knowledge and competency
  • increasing transparency and accountability

Students can find further information in A student and parent guide to choosing an education agent.

Our commercial relationship with education agents

LSHTM contracts a small number of international education agents to support recruitment and provide information to prospective students. These agents have a commercial relationship with LSHTM and receive commission payments when students they support successfully enrol at the School. If you choose to use one of our contracted agents, they may assist you during the application process and communicate with LSHTM on your behalf where appropriate. Because agents are compensated for successful enrolments, students should understand this relationship when considering any advice or recommendations provided.

We strongly recommend that prospective students use only agents officially listed by LSHTM.

Our contracted education agents

LSHTM publishes a list of all contracted education agents that are authorised to represent the School.
