LSHTM aims to move towards an approach to disability inclusion based on the Social Model of Disability which recognises that people are disabled by barriers in society, not by their impairment or difference.
Our staff disability policy is set out in that context as is our procedure and guidance for supporting disabled staff.
The School welcomes students with disabilities. We aim to provide appropriate disability support and facilities for each student and to review practices and procedures to enable and encourage disabled students to participate fully in life at LSHTM.
We have partnered with Access Able, which is an organisation that provides comprehensive accessibility guides for venues and destinations across the UK.
As a result, we have created detailed access guides for teaching/meeting spaces and rooms across all our London buildings. The guides contain facts, figures and photographs to help students, visitors and staff plan their journeys to and around the School, covering everything from parking facilities and hearing loops, to walking distances and accessible toilets.
