Charity halls of residence

Charity halls of residence tend to be cheaper, but tend to get booked up far more quickly as a result.  They generally offer fairly basic accommodation – clean but not in any way luxurious.  Some of the halls listed below have a religious affiliation, but welcome students of all faiths (as well as those with no faith) and cultures.  We have not visited these places and do not keep a check on whether they still have availability.

Ashwell House: female-only hall located in Islington, ages 18 - 25 only.  Not very near any tube station but centrally located – on a direct bus route, allow 40 minutes for the entire journey.

Guy Chester Centre: located in Muswell Hill, in North London (allow 45 minutes for transport).  Maximum age is 25 but exceptions can be made for postgraduate students

Goodenough College: 15 minutes' walk from the School. Goodenough College is an award-winning postgraduate residence in the heart of London and offers accommodation for single students, couples and families.

International Lutheran Student Centre: offers very reasonably priced accommodation within 10-15 minutes walk of the School.

International Students House: a popular choice with students, located about 15 minutes walk from the School. ISH organise lots of cultural and social events with an international flavour.

Lee Abbey: located in Kensington, central London. About 30 minutes by public transport.

More House: located in South Kensington, near many of the major museums. About 30 minutes to travel to the School.

Nansen Village: post-graduate accommodation for students with families (couples with or without children). Located quite far out in zone 4, but on a direct tube line to the School. Allow 45 – 60 minutes.

Netherhall House: male-only hall in North London. On a direct tube route into the School, allow 40 minutes max for whole journey.

Newman House: Catholic residency on Gower Street, very near the School, for full-time Catholic students aged up to 28 years of age.

Victoria League Student House: The accommodation is available to international, full time students aged 18-30, who are from a Commonwealth (or former) country.

Zebra Housing Association: provides accommodation for international students including students with children (up to 2).  Various locations, all of which are reasonably easy to reach from the School.
