The LSHTM Careers service provides a range of services for all Research, Masters and Diploma students at the School’s London campus, as well as those who have graduated from the London campus within the past 2 years. Through our Careers Consultants you can access support to help you move ahead with your career and find the job or further study course that you want. Distance Learning students can use our online resources, including helpsheets, videos of panel and alumni talks and our interview simulator tool.
How we can help you
- 30 minute one-to-one appointments with a careers consultant, available Monday to Thursday. In these appointments you can discuss anything from finding relevant work experience to making the most of a networking opportunity to deciding on your next steps after graduation.
- Practice interviews. These give you a chance to answer possible interview questions and get feedback to hone your technique
Workshops & Events
- Career workshops
These are led by an LSHTM careers consultant on topics such as LinkedIn, CVs and Applications, Interviews as well as a range of ‘Getting into’ labour market information workshops on specific careers.
- Career fairs
Career fairs on campus with employers from a range of organisations. Previously employers on campus have included MSF, Evidera, ICRC, VSO, Marie Stopes International, Africa Health Placements.
- Career panels
Career panels to showcase careers in different areas of work, such as Public Health in a Developing Context, Public Health in the UK, Academic Careers.
- Networking events
Networking events where you can talk informally with LSHTM alumni.
- Alumni talks
Alumni talks where you can hear about the careers of past LSHTM students. Examples of alumni on campus previously include Vanessa Kerry, founder of the non-profit Seed Global Health, Elizabeth Pisani, Director of public health consultancy Ternyata Ltd and Bobby Pritt, leading parasitology academic.

- Employer presentations & events
The Careers Service provides a full schedule of events throughout the year, ranging from employer seminars and panel discussions to networking events and career fairs. We are always keen to hear from companies that would like to participate in these events, either by giving a short presentation to our students, or by having a presence at one of our larger events.
