Between 2 and 4 December 2024, the Research Consortium’s ‘Good Examples’ Community of Practice held a case study writing workshop in Mexico City, bringing together participants from Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Guatemala, and Mexico.

Organised in collaboration with Iberoamericana University, the three-day workshop was designed for the participants to exchange experiences in managing school meals programmes in each their respective territory and share progress towards documenting their national programmes in a ‘Good Examples’ case study. These reports document the organisation, financing and monitoring of a national school meals programme, with the aim of completing case studies of every member state of the School Meals Coalition

The event brought together 20 attendees, primarily researchers from national universities and civil society organisations, with vibrant discussions about the successes and lessons learned from their respective regions and contexts.

The workshop’s collaborative atmosphere helped to strengthen ties among the participants, with researchers expressing a strong commitment to continue working together and advocating for improvements in school meals.
