Between 23 and 26 January 2024, the Research Consortium’s Good Examples Community of Practice (CoP) held a writing workshop in Cotonou, Benin, for countries in the region seeking to developing a case study on their national school meals programme.

With funding from the French Ministry of Agriculture and Food Sovereignty, and under the leadership of L’institut Agro Montpellier, the workshop saw participants from L’institut Agro and from Benin, Togo, and Senegal share their diverse experiences in managing school meals programmes in their respective territories.

The event brought together a variety of stakeholders, including university professors, representatives from research centers, national agencies for school food management, and development associations. This diversity facilitated the exchange of complementary and constructive experiences.

After two days’ work dedicated to each case study, the third day focused on reflecting on potential research partnerships arising from this collective exchange. The results of the case studies will be published during the year 2024.

Further regional case study writing workshops in Europe, Asia, and Latin America are due to take place throughout the year. Stay informed by signing up to the Research Consortium's newsletter.
