The first days and weeks of life are some of the most vulnerable and are crucial for shaping health throughout the life course. Yet despite global progress, millions of babies are stillborn, born too soon, too small or with preventable complications. 

The MARCH Centre’s babies theme focuses on improving care around birth and in the newborn period, generating evidence to prevent stillbirths and neonatal deaths, strengthen health systems and ensuring that babies not only survive, but have the best possible start in life.
