AMR Centre announces new leadership positions

The Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Centre at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine has appointed Rebecca Glover as Co-Director
“I am delighted to step into the role of co-Director of AMR Centre. The AMR Centre celebrates interdisciplinarity in AMR research, and I, like many others, have found it to be an intellectual home at LSHTM.” - Dr Rebecca Glover

Dr Rebecca Glover, who has served as Deputy Director of the Centre, steps into the role bringing extensive experience in interdisciplinary AMR research. A social scientist by background, her work focuses on the social and behavioural dimensions of antimicrobial resistance, including how health systems, everyday practices and policy environments shape antimicrobial use. She is also a Principal Investigator on major AMR research initiatives, contributing to efforts that bridge qualitative and quantitative approaches.

Alongside her appointment, Dr Mirza Lalani has been named Deputy Director. Lalani is an Assistant Professor and joint Principal Investigator of the AMR National Action Plan evaluation, with research spanning health systems, policy implementation and global health.

Further strengthening the Centre’s leadership, Dr Ayodeji Matuluko joins the management committee. A Research Fellow working on the Pharmacy First evaluation, Matuluko is recognised for her contributions to health services research and mixed-methods evaluation.

Speaking about her new role, Dr Glover said: “I am delighted to step into the role of co-Director of AMR Centre. The AMR Centre celebrates interdisciplinarity in AMR research, and I, like many others, have found it to be an intellectual home at LSHTM.”

The appointments highlight the AMR Centre’s continued commitment to interdisciplinary research and leadership in tackling antimicrobial resistance.
