Green slide with LSHTM Event in white text

This webinar will present research on “strengthening the inclusion of persons with disabilities in the health system in Brazil”. This research was conducted in partnership with researchers from the International Centre for Evidence in Disability, the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation, Federal University do Pernambuco and the Hospital das Clinicas of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of São Paulo.  The study, “Strengthening the inclusion of persons with disabilities in the health system in Brazil”, included the use of participatory methods to put the voices of people with disabilities at the centre.

The study aimed at exploring the reality of access and functioning of the Unified Health System in Brazil (SUS) in meeting the health needs of people with disabilities.

We will present key findings from the research as well as key recommendations co-developed with policymakers, researchers and healthcare staff.
