MARCH event card

This will be an engaging 60 minute online webinar exploring CANCHILD’s the F‑words for child development. The webinar will showcase the 6 F-words: Functioning, Family, Fitness, Fun, Friends, and Future which provide a strengths based and family centred way to work with children with disabilities and their families.

This event is open to everyone with interest or experience in implementing programmes for children with developmental disability and their caregivers, and will share learning from the Ubuntu Hub programmes.

The presentation will be followed by an interactive discussion with attendees and Q&A.

Attendees will learn about:

  • The six F‑words (Functioning, Family, Fitness, Fun, Friends, Future) and introduce how they support a holistic, strengths‑based, family‑centred approach for children and families.
  • Practical ways to use the F-words in everyday life and practice.
  • Reflect on the cultural relevance of the F-words and how the ideas can be adapted for diverse and global contexts.

The Ubuntu hub webinars are monthly collaborative online webinars on early child disability between the MARCH Centre and ICED and aim to bring together diverse perspectives on early childhood disability and engage those working in early child disability.
