Powering-up action on climate and health: From politics to implementation
Join us for a launch event introducing a Call to Action by the Pan-European Commission on Climate and Health (PECCH), hosted by the Pathfinder Initiative in collaboration with the PECCH.
Despite the growing scientific evidence, political attention to climate change is wavering. Economic pressures, geopolitical instability, and competing priorities have pushed climate action further down the agenda, even as the scientific consensus becomes more urgent. At the same time, mis- and disinformation continue to erode public trust in climate science, delaying essential societal and political responses.
This event, hosted on the sidelines of the World Health Assembly (WHA) and Geneva Health Forum by the Pan-European Commission on Climate and Health (PECCH) and the Pathfinder Initiative, will present evidence and recommendations to advance the climate and health agenda in the WHO European Region and globally.
This session will present the PECCH‘s Call to Action, highlighting practical, scalable solutions for climate and health. Leading experts will share the latest evidence on climate and health, including insights and case studies from the Pathfinder Initiative and will explore what researchers, decision makers, innovators, and other key actors can do to accelerate implementation.
The event timing will be 18:00 - 19:20 CEST (UTC+02:00) for those joining in person in Geneva. Please note timezone if joining online.
After the event, there will be a networking reception with refreshments until 20:30 CEST (UTC+02:00).
