Poverty and livelihoods – barriers and solutions

The fifth webinar in this series will explore the impact of poverty on families of children with disabilities and why is it vital to address poverty and livelihoods within disability programmes. ​​

This one-hour webinar will explore the importance of addressing poverty and livelihoods for caregivers of children with developmental disabilities. This event is open to everyone with interest or experience in implementing programmes for children with developmental disability and their caregivers and will share learning from the Ubuntu Hub programmes.  

The webinar will include a short presentation on a recent scoping review and stakeholder survey on supporting the livelihoods of caregivers of children with developmental disabilities. This will be followed by a presentation on the new Ubuntu “Building Foundations” Livelihoods module; sharing information about the module content and experiences of running the session, followed by a Q&A. 

Attendees will learn about:

  1. The importance of addressing poverty and livelihoods within disability programmes
  2. Strategies to alleviate poverty in a group programme
  3. Have the opportunity to share experiences, ideas and learning with global expert panel
