What happens when childhood cancer is curable, but the child cannot reach the cure? Beginning with one critically ill boy in coastal Ghana, Dr Amoako will explore how geography, health-system design, decentralised cancer care and gaps in survival data shape outcomes for children with cancer in Ghana and across Africa.

This is an open, in-person seminar in the Manson Lecture Theatre (accessible on the Keppel Street ground floor). Attendees will learn about the difficulties of access to childhood cancer services in Ghana and other countries in Africa. An open discussion will follow Dr Amoako’s presentation.
