Baby Ubuntu research highlights 2025

Join us to celebrate Baby Ubuntu’s growth and impact during 2025, showcasing our successes and highlighting the growing evidence base for the programme.

The Ubuntu hub webinars aim to engage those working in early child disability including the LSHTM ‘Ubuntu Hub’ global community of practice. This will be an engaging 60 minute online webinar exploring the evidence base and impact of the Baby Ubuntu programme.

This event is open to everyone with interest or experience in implementing programmes for children with developmental disability and their caregivers and will share learning from the Ubuntu Hub programmes.

The webinar will include presentations on:

  • A comprehensive review of our evidence base and learning using the RE-AIM framework (Reach, Effectiveness, Adoption, Implementation, and Maintenance), which is a robust approach for evaluating programme impact and sustainability.
  • An update from PDC/Baby Ubuntu trial - cluster randomised control trial of 1500 families in Rwanda; the trial is evaluating programme integrated with government health as well as the impact of the programme on child and caregiver outcomes.
  • Caregiver Perspectives - Authentic stories from Uganda based on in-depth interviews, providing qualitative insights into lived experiences and programme impact

This will be followed by an interactive discussion with attendees and Q&A.

Attendees will learn about:

  • Evaluating the evidence base for Baby Ubuntu using the RE-AIM framework.
  • Learnings so far from the Rwanda cluster randomized controlled trial.
  • Lived experience of caregivers of young children with developmental disabilities in Uganda.
  • Have the opportunity to share experiences, ideas and learning with global expert panel.
