The George AC Bassadone OBE Fund has provided a generous grant to London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) to support MSc projects undertaken by current students.
This scholarship funding will provide MSc students with financial assistance for activities relating to their 2025-26 MSc project, including travel and research costs.
Awards will be made for between GBP 500.00 and GBP 3,000.00 each, and will be determined based on individual project needs.
This scholarship is open to Master’s students currently registered on any of the 19 intensive (London-based) MSc programmes of study at LSHTM. Unfortunately, it is not available to students registered on distance-learning programmes.
Eligibility for funding
To be eligible for this funding, applicants must
- Be registered on an intensive 2025-26 MSc programme of study.
- Be registered for full-time study.
Preference will be given to
- those students who are both nationals of and ordinarily resident in sub-Saharan Africa.*
- students whose projects are based in sub-Saharan Africa.*

- Log in to the Scholarships Application Portal via e-vision (https://evision.lshtm.ac.uk/live/sits.urd/run/siw_lgn) using your LSHTM login details.
- Please search for ‘2025-26 George AC Bassadone OBE Fund’ if you wish to apply for this funding, and then answer all the questions online and attach any documents required as part of your application.
- Budget Form – please fill in this budget form. The budget should provide a full list of projected costs for the MSc project, and include justification for the costs. Please highlight which costs are to be covered by the scholarship, as well as show details of how other costs will be covered.
- Timetable – Please provide a timetable for the project work.
- Supervisor Support Form– please fill in this supervisor support form. Applicants will need to upload a supervisor support form for the proposed project work for which they are requesting funding. You will not be able to submit your application without attaching this to your online application.
- Once you are happy with all your responses you can press submit and you should receive a confirmation of receipt email at your LSHTM email address.
- The scholarships portal will not be able to accept applications after the deadline stated below.
- The Scholarships team will be in touch with an outcome in due course.
Incomplete applications will not be considered for this funding.

Deadline
