Work with us

There are many ways in which you can get involved with the Centre for Evaluation.

Providing technical support on evaluation designs and methods

The Evaluation Review Committee helps us to promote the development of robust evaluation methodologies.  The committee provides expert advice on evaluation designs and methods. The committee is open to LSHTM staff and Research Degree students who would benefit from technical input on a research proposal or a study protocol.

We ask staff/RD students to complete a form outlining the design or methodological issue they are grappling with, and we  convene a panel of 3-4 people with the appropriate expertise to advise. Proposers are asked to present their questions to the panel who will offer technical advice.

Supporting grant applications

There are several other ways the Centre can support grant applications

  1. We can be named in applications as a resource that members can draw on to provide technical advice, assistance with promotion and dissemination of findings, or networking with our members and other experts in Evaluation.  Some funders allow grants to include funding to support this work.  We recommend that where the Centre is mentioned in grants, this should be linked via the RCP.
  2. We can circulate information about funding applications, evaluation-related consultancies or job opportunities to our network members.

Promoting evaluation related research

We welcome suggestions for presentations on evaluations conducted by staff and collaborators at LSHTM as part of our seminar series. Please email your ideas to us (address provided below), so we can help set this up and promote within our networks.

Similarly, we welcome information about funding opportunities, journal series, conferences or workshops, consultancies related to evaluation of public health interventions that can be distributed to Centre members via our email list. Contact our email (address provided below) with the details.

Members are also advised to register their Centre affiliation to Elements. Any new publications will then be flagged as relevant to the Centre and circulated via our newsletter.

Become a Student Centre Ambassador

We have a team of student liaison officers representing the MSc student body and the Research degrees students.  You can read more about their work and how to apply on the website.
