Training resources
There are numerous opportunities to learn more about quantifying impact in evaluation via courses within the School, which suit a variety of different requirements and levels. Please find the details below.
Courses at LSHTM
The School runs various courses which cover key ideas of quantifying impact, which are all available below.
- Module: Evaluation of Public Health Interventions
For an overview of how to design impact and process evaluations of complex public health interventions, the Faculty Public Health & Policy offers annually the module Evaluation of Public Health Interventions (DL and In-person).
More information on Evaluation of Public Health Interventions.
- MSc course: MSc Clinical Trials
With extensive expertise in this area from academics across the globe, this course shares best practices for carrying out clinical trials that test drugs, comparing alternative treatments, and using cutting-edge methods, including evaluative methods.
- Short course: Essentials of Clinical Trials
Short course on the fundamental principles of Randomised Clinical Trials (RCTs), which provides a comprehensive understanding of the rigorous evaluation of interventions in health care.
- Short course: Missing Data Using Multiple Imputation.
For dealing with missing data in quantitative research, including evaluations, the School’s Centre for Data and Statistical Science for Health offers the short course Statistical Analysis with Missing Data Using Multiple Imputation.
Resources on Time Series Regression Analysis
For Time Series Regression Analysis, the Centre for Statistical Methodology at LSHTM provides further information and resources on statistical methods relevant for impact evaluations including causal inference, Time Series Regression Analysis, and Missing Data and Measurement Error.
