Pathogen genomics, the holy grail for inferring the direction of transmission?

The workshop will focus on the latest advances in inferring the direction of transmission using genomic data. Talks will be presented by researchers at the forefront of the field and will be followed by an open discussion.

Genome sequencing can play a valuable role in responding to infectious disease outbreaks, as we have seen with COVID-19. But is it really the holy grail when it comes to investigating pathogen transmission and, specifically, determining who infects whom?

In this online workshop, we invite experts in the fields of genomics, computational biology and epidemiology to share their insights.
