Movie and documentary in mental health: From research to public engagement

This interdisciplinary intensive summer school will introduce participants to the use of film in mental health.

Topics will include the use of documentary as a tool in research, education and advocacy; community outreach and engagement using films; narrative and visual storytelling, artistic film-making in mental health, film for medical education and psychoanalysis and cinema.

There will be workshops, film screenings, and materials from several projects that will be used by the faculty to illustrate the topics.

By the end of the course, participants will develop and present a synopsis or a basic script (and supporting materials where applicable) of their own film project to the students'group and to the faculty, and receive feedback.
