The Global Mental Health Humanitarian Coalition, created by three Global Mental Health MSc students from King’s College London and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, is proud to invite you to the first of a series of panel discussions addressing mental healthcare in humanitarian crises.

Our first panel will focus on the mental health consequences of the war in Ukraine. This event is intended for anyone concerned about the implications of this war or with an interest in the mental health effects of a humanitarian crisis.

The Global Mental Health in Humanitarian Crisis event series brings together various stakeholders with the aim of creating a space for discussion and generation of ideas on how best to respond to mental health needs in the humanitarian sector. We wish to bring perspectives from academia, non-governmental organisations, practitioners, policymakers and individuals with lived experience, to gain critical and holistic insights into what happens on the ground. It is our hope that these dynamic discussions will help identify the gaps in mental health care research and practice and give rise to ideas on how to improve services and mental health outcomes for those affected by a humanitarian crisis.
