Disability and maternity care in the UK

Explore findings from the ICED and Missing Billion report on disparities in UK maternity care for disabled women and key recommendations for change.

Women with disabilities face persistent and avoidable inequalities in maternity care. These include barriers to accessing care and poorer maternal and neonatal health outcomes.

This webinar will share the findings from the landmark report on disparities in maternity care for disabled women in the UK published by ICED and The Missing Billion initiative. The report reveals that national guidance for maternity care, including from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence, is not adequately taking disability into account.

We will explore the key gaps in policy and practice, hear evidence on what women with disabilities are experiencing, and discuss priorities for change to ensure maternity care works for everyone.
