Educational/professional background
In 2022 I graduated with my bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering from the University of Miami. For three years after, I was working as a research technician in a colorectal cancer research lab at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
Research interests or career goals
My research interests include infectious disease modeling, epidemic preparedness, and the impact of climate change on communicable diseases. After graduating I’m hoping to work in infectious disease surveillance and outbreak response.
Why I chose LSHTM/my programme
I decided to come to LSHTM because it’s made up of leading experts in public health from around the globe. It was really important to me to gain international experience not just by attending a university outside of my home country, but also through the diversity of faculty and students I would meet there. By pursing an MSc Epidemiology here, I hope to expand my analytical skills and understanding of social contributors to public health to become an effective epidemiologist.
