Educational/professional background

After completing my undergraduate medical training in India, I worked as a general practitioner in the public and private sectors for 2 years. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I pivoted to clinical research and worked in a vaccine efficacy trial team. I also led two teams of undergraduate medical student research teams to conduct and analyse observational studies. Later, I worked closely with clinicians, in several trials evaluating new medical devices in obstetrics and gynaecology. These projects culminated in several publications in reputed peer-reviewed journals, and I serve as a peer reviewer for several notable academic journals.

Research interests or career goals

I am passionate about non-communicable disease epidemiology, particularly chronic pain conditions. Eventually, I hope to lead a team that evaluates both traditional and modern medical interventions that may prove useful in primary chronic pain diseases.

Why I chose LSHTM/my programme

As a medical graduate, I was eager to pivot to clinical research and work with a diverse team with similar interests. MSc Epidemiology at LSHTM came highly recommended to me, by public health specialists and clinicians alike. I believe this specialisation will equip me with the necessary skills and provide valuable networking opportunities that will help advance my career in clinical epidemiology.
