As an ambassador your main role will be to help prospective students learn more about the study opportunities at LSHTM. Ambassadors may be requested to participate in a number of ways, depending on their particular set of skills/capabilities and preferences. This would include:

  • Answering queries from prospective students about your programme, life at LSHTM or distance learning study via email and/or in online chat sessions
  • Assisting at our on-campus and virtual events such as open days, webinars, campus tours, etc.
  • Contributing to promotional materials such as programme brochures, website profiles or media articles, photoshoots, and interviews
  • Sharing quotes about your experience
  • Participating in student focus groups and market research
  • Writing blogs about various aspects of your student experience
  • Participating in student panels at information sessions (involving public speaking).

This role is open to all students. Being a Student Ambassador at LSHTM is flexible and designed to fit around your studies. Throughout the year, we’ll share different opportunities to get involved in events, and you can sign up on a first-come, first-served basis, so you only take part when it suits you. You'll also help by responding to questions from prospective students, giving them a real insight into life at LSHTM. If things ever get too busy, just let us know, and we can pause your profile until you’re ready to jump back in.

Digital Content Ambassadors (in-person students only)

We are looking for a small team of creative people who enjoy creating content and being active on social media to be Digital Content Ambassadors.

The role involves creating a wide range of content for our social media platforms, website and email campaigns on topics such as studying at LSHTM, tips on getting ready for exams, favourite London spots etc. The main points of the role include:

  • Creating regular vlogs and content to be shared on LSHTM social media channels
  • Participating in social media activities such as takeovers, engagement on stories etc.
  • Participating in monthly brainstorm sessions, suggesting content to be created for the future
  • Interviewing your peers about their LSHTM experience (interviews can be in various formats such as written blogs, short videos, Instagram stories etc.)
  • Taking photos throughout the year that would depict the student life at LSHTM

Digital Content Ambassadors will automatically become Student Ambassadors too. Please note you MUST submit a piece of your previous work alongside the application to become a Digital Content Ambassador to be considered.

We will be looking to share fresh student content regularly throughout the year, so there will be lots of opportunities to get creative and share your story. You will be expected to work a set number of hours per month, and this time includes a monthly brainstorming session with the Study Team and the rest of the Digital Content Ambassadors, where we will generate ideas for the following months and allocate content creation to each individual.

Please note that being a Digital Content Ambassador is not available for Online/Distance Learning students; however, you will still have the opportunity to create some digital content to promote our online programmes.

Digital Content Ambassadors - China (in-person students only)

We are also recruiting a small team of Digital Content Ambassadors - China to create authentic and engaging Mandarin-speaking content for prospective students.

You may be involved in creating short videos, social media posts, student stories or blogs, as well as suggesting content ideas relevant to Chinese audiences. Experience using platforms such as RED, WeChat Platform, Douyin, Bilibili, Zhihu or Weibo would be helpful, but professional content creation experience is not required.

We are looking for students who communicate naturally in Mandarin, understand digital audiences in China and are enthusiastic about sharing their experience of studying at LSHTM.

This role will involve developing content tailored for Mandarin speakers at key points throughout the year, particularly around major recruitment, application and student arrival periods. This will include attending regular brainstorming sessions with the International Student Recruitment Manager and other ambassadors, contributing ideas for Chinese audiences, responding to content briefs, and completing agreed content within the allocated timeframe.

The workload may vary throughout the year, but activities will be planned around your studies wherever possible. Ambassadors will be expected to communicate regularly with the International Student Recruitment Manager and let us know as early as possible if they are unable to complete an agreed piece of content.

Please note that being a Digital Content Ambassador - China is not available for Online/ Distance Learning students; however, you will still have the opportunity to create some digital content to promote our online programmes.
