Educational/professional background

I am a medical doctor with over 6 years of clinical and research implementation experience, mainly in HIV programs in South Africa. I advised on HIV programs and healthcare capacitation, content development and HIV-related training for healthcare workers, healthcare managers and undergraduate students.

At LSHTM, I am an Student Liaison Officer (SLO) for the MARCH Centre and a Student Ambassador at the CCCPH's Planetary Health Network, working with various students and staff on events and initiatives.

Research interests or career goals

With experience in child health and health programs, I pursued the MSc Climate Change and Planetary Health (CCPH) to combine my clinical interests with emerging health threats like climate change.

I envision a world in which children benefit from the burgeoning field of Planetary Health, particularly in sub-Saharan Africa. I'm interested in exploring across-sector integration and collaboration in developing and strengthening resilient health systems, and evaluating impact of health and cross-sector programs

Why I chose LSHTM/my programme

I chose MSc Climate Change & Planetary Health at LSHTM as it offered a dedicated programme on planetary health, and for LSHTM's world-renowned reputation and public health excellence - leveraging LSHTM's network of passionate global public health professionals.

Extra information

I can discuss experiencing the UK for the first time/living in London, experiences in LSHTM roles (SLO/Student Ambassador) and transitioning to public health work from clinical backgrounds.
