Individual intensive modules are a great way to expand your knowledge and gain new skills whilst not requiring the same time commitment as a full master's programme.
Our module specification provides full details about the aims and objectives of each module, what you will study, how the module is assessed and whether there are any prerequisites that have to be met before registering for the module.
Our modules focus on a range of specialised topics in public and global health and benefit from the range of academic and research expertise at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. You'll study alongside our intensive master's students, building networks and learning from your peers as well as our academic staff.

We offer a wide range of standalone modules to external applicants. The module list provides you with information about the modules running in a year of study.
Fees
The fee for individual intensive modules in the 2026-27 academic year (all terms) is £3,100.00. Please note the course information relates to the 2026/27 running of the module.
Schedule
Each module takes place once per year. Teaching for term 1 modules usually occurs over ten weeks, and five weeks for terms 2 and 3 modules. The time students are required to attend will vary according to the teaching strategy of the module, but will usually be 20-45 hours for term 1 modules and 50-60 hours for terms 2 and 3 modules. Learning time, including reading, is estimated to be 150 hours per module.

Modules in the same half of the week run concurrently and only one of these may be taken in any given year.
