Vision
ENHANCE aims to create a transformative programme, training new research leaders capable of moving from code to clinic, exploring innovative ways that AI and Digital Tools can be used to address existing and emerging healthcare challenges.
Summary
This Doctoral Training Programme, led by LSHTM in collaboration with KCL and QMUL, and funded by the Wellcome Trust, will provide PhD training for up to 20 PhD fellows. There will be 4 fellowships awarded each year for 5 years. Successful applicants will develop their potential to become clinical AI and digital health leaders within a structured and mentored training environment, bridging methodological innovation and clinical practice. They will undertake research advancing equitable care through discovery data science approaches in diverse national and global populations.
The programme is open to all health professionals registered with UK professional bodies. Support is for three years and includes a matched salary, research expenses, home rate tuition fees, and training and travel costs. Doctors who have completed their specialist training (GPs and Consultants) should contact the Programme Director for a discussion about their salary scale.
This is a full time, fixed term post (part-time equivalent is available) funded by the Wellcome Trust and based at one collaborating institutions.
Application
To be eligible to apply for a fellowship, applicants must first be accepted onto the pre-written application bootcamp programme and have completed 10 hours of training (for AI and/or data science). There are 25 places on the bootcamp and it will consist of conceptual training of data science and AI, PPIE, and research methodology, as well as supporting applicants through the written application.
