Through its G20 Presidency, Brazil has elevated the fight against hunger and poverty on the global stage through the establishment of a Global Alliance against Hunger and Poverty (GAAHP), which was officially launched at the G20 Leaders’ Summit in Rio de Janeiro on 18 November. Ahead of the launch, the “2030 Sprints” event at the G20 Social Summit covered the six policy areas GAAHP members will focus on to reach zero hunger and poverty by 2030, including school meals programmes.
