Between 16 and 18 July, the Good Examples Community of Practice (CoP) held a regional writing workshop in Bangkok, Thailand, to support countries in the South East Asia region currently undertaking a case study of their national school meals programme.
Convened under the leadership of L’institut Agro Montpellier, the workshop was attended by academics from leading research institutions in four Asian countries (Bangladesh, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, and Thailand), along with colleagues from the World Food Programme Regional Bureau Bangkok (WFP RBB), the WFP Sri Lanka country office, and the Research Consortium’s Analytics & Metrics Community of Practice.
Over the course of three days, participants had the opportunity to share progress in the development of their respective case studies, learn from each other’s successes, and exchange ideas around common challenges. Alongside writing support, the workshop also aimed to foster closer relationships between actors working on school health and nutrition in the Asia region, with the view of strengthening the regional school meals network and facilitating improved peer-to-peer learning between neighbouring countries.
It comes after the first Good Examples regional writing workshop in Benin earlier this year for countries undertaking case studies in the Africa region, and will be followed by equivalent session in Latin America in the coming months.
The Good Examples Community of Practice aims to support every country of the School Meals Coalition to produce a case study of its national school meals programme. For further information, please contact [email protected] or [email protected].
