What is your role at LSHTM?

At LSHTM, I specialize in mathematical modeling and app development.

Tell us a bit about your current project?

Currently, I'm engaged in the Plus Project, which involves co-designing, piloting, and evaluating country-specific models of Perennial Malaria Chemoprevention (PMC) with sulfadoxine-pyrimethamine. My responsibilities include assessing the potential impact of various PMC campaigns using P. falciparum transmission models and creating an app to aid PMC decision-making across Africa.

What three words describe you?

According to my friends (thanks, Emma), I'm described as jolly, fun, and occasionally annoying. It's a love-hate dynamic.

What are your hobbies and interests?

Outside of work, I enjoy playing football in various leagues across London, exploring new areas and eateries in the city, spending time with friends and family, and indulging my passion for travel by constantly planning new trips abroad.

Which words or phrases do you overuse?

I tend to use "like" excessively in my speech, inserting it into nearly every sentence.

If not yourself, who would you most like to be?

While I once contemplated a career in medicine, so perhaps a doctor. But the idea of being a professional footballer in Europe also holds appeal...

What’s next for you in your career?

I envision continuing in a data science role, with a potential transition into a more machine learning/AI-based modeling position. I've enjoyed developing such models in the past, and the limitless health-related applications intrigue me.
