I am an interdisciplinary Associate Professor working in and around critical public health and health policy. As joint PI of the Pharmacy First Evaluation (https://www.lshtm.ac.uk/research/centres-projects-groups/pharmacy-first…), PI of an MRC methodological grant on the commercial determinants of health, and Deputy Director of the Public Health Policy Research Unit (https://www.phpru.online/), I have a particular research interest in complex systems research and (critical) policy evaluation. I conduct applied policy research, often with policy customers in government in the UK or EU, or with think tanks. I am Associate Convener of the Campbell and Cochrane Equity Methods Group, a founding member of the LSHTM Commercial Determinants Research Group, and I am Co-Director of the AMR Centre at LSHTM.

I am the Module Organiser for Applied Communicable Disease Control, a modern module using problem based learning and applied lecturing styles to provide students with up-to-date, usable skills for their future careers in health policy, field epidemiology, programme management, and disease control
