This talk will cover how our notions of scientific evidence are evolving in the modern era, drawing on Adam Kucharski's epidemiological research and recent book Proof: The Uncertain Science of Certainty. From epidemic response and clinical trials to online misinformation and AI, it will look at how truth emerges – and why it falters.
