From handling a high number of studies and heterogeneity to conducting a meaningful synthesis

Tips & Tricks seminar series on Evidence Synthesis

The Centre for Evaluation is inviting you to the third seminar of its series ‘Tips & Tricks seminar series on Evidence Synthesis’. Systematic review experts will present their work and share their experience on challenges and opportunities when embarking on complex evidence synthesis efforts. All key classic evidence synthesis ‘steps’ will be covered, from searching the literature to synthesizing and presenting results.

For this third seminar, we will host three speakers who will comment on different challenges when conducting an evidence synthesis:

  • Dr Silvia Maritano will present the challenges with dealing with heterogeneity in her systematic review about child-related impacts of income support policies.
  • Laurence Blanchard will present an ongoing series of evidence syntheses on diet-related policies, including an evidence map and overview of reviews and strategies when dealing with a high number of included papers.
