The Friendship Bench is a brief psychological intervention delivered by trained community grandmothers in Zimbabwe and beyond. In Zimbabwe alone, over 3000 grandmothers deliver this low intensity intervention through out the country from wooden park benches. This lecture will look at the beginning of Friendship Bench and how the program has leaned into it’s values of empathy, connectedness and research to expand in Zimbabwe and beyond”
