Following the publication of Masset, Garcia-Hombrados and Acharya's 2020 paper, 'Aiming high and falling low', assessing the impact of the SADA-Northern Ghana Millennium Village Project, Jeffrey Sachs, co-founder and chief strategist of Millennium Promise Alliance, will debate with the authors in a lunchtime session hosted by the LSHTM Centre for Evaluation.         

 

About the speakers

Jeffrey Sachs is a University Professor and Director of the Center for Sustainable Development at Columbia University, where he directed the Earth Institute from 2002 until 2016. He is also Director of the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network and a commissioner of the UN Broadband Commission for Development. He has been advisor to three United Nations Secretaries-General, and currently serves as an SDG Advocate under Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.     

 

Edoardo Masset is the deputy director of the Centre of Excellence in Development Impact and Learning (CEDIL) and associate professor at the LSHTM. Before joining CEDIL, Edoardo was Deputy Director and head of the London office of the International Initiative for Impact Evaluation, which he joined after working as a Research Fellow at the Institute of Development Studies at the University of Sussex.
