Climate Change is a Health Emergency

London Climate Action Week poster

Climate change is the greatest threat to human health in the 21st Century. As we emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic we are faced with an urgent need to re-build a sustainable and healthy society that is able to adapt and respond to the climate crisis. In this session, experts at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine will present evidence on the effects of climate change on our health and discuss critical policies that could protect us in the future. Topics will include the damaging effect of heat and rising temperatures in the UK, how climate change affects our food supplies and the changing patterns of infectious disease.
