Since joining LSHTM as a lecturer in 1979, Professor Dame Anne Mills has been a pioneering force in the fields of health economics and health systems research, particularly in low- and middle-income countries. Through her extensive research, capacity strengthening and advisory roles with multilateral, bilateral, and government agencies her work has shaped policy and practice globally.  In recognition of her contributions to global health, Anne was awarded a CBE in 2006 and the Prince Mahidol Prize in 2009, elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society in 2013, and appointed Dame Commander of the Order of St Michael and St George (DCMG) in 2015.

Alongside her external achievements Anne has had a significant impact on the LSHTM community.  She has advised and mentored generations of researchers, played a key role in successful REF submissions and overseen significant improvements in academic processes.

The lecture will be followed by a drinks reception at the Pumphandle Social: Bar and Café & Courtyard.
