Educational/professional background

I’m currently a full-time student in MSc Medical Parasitology & Entomology at LSHTM. I hold dual American-British nationality and earned my B.S. in Biomedical Science in the US. Over the past several years, I have gained hands-on experience in both clinical and laboratory settings, including two years as a medical assistant in Radiology, a month working as a medical assistant in Papua New Guinea, and roles as a Parasitology and Microbiology Lab Assistant during my undergraduate studies. Between my undergraduate and graduate studies, I spent a year teaching English in Spain, which gave me the opportunity to travel and work outside of my field of study, whilst building my communication and leadership skills.

Research interests or career goals

My career goal is to pursue a clinical medical profession in tropical settings. I am excited to connect with fellow students, share my experiences, and contribute to the LSHTM community, supporting others as they navigate their own journeys in global health!! 

Why I chose LSHTM/my programme

I was drawn to LSHTM because it offers a highly practical, diagnostic-focused program that equips students with the essential skills needed for both field and clinical work.
