Educational/professional background
I am a medical doctor in Japan. I completed two years of foundation years and worked in the ER for a bit prior to coming to LSHTM.
Research interests or career goals
My main areas of interest are disaster/emergency response and maternal and child health, with a specific focus on marginalized and underserved populations. Career goals are still vague but hoping to find the ideal balance and overlap of clinical with public health interventions.
Why I chose LSHTM/my programme
I chose LSHTM because it offers an incredible balance of top-class research and real-world impact on global health. I think my programme in particular offers the chance to learn from experienced faculty and a diverse group of peers, making it the perfect place to form life-long connections!
Extra information
I am also the student representative for the Centre for Maternal, Adolescent, Reproductive, & Child Health (MARCH). I can give information on running, sports and markets in London!
