Educational/professional background

After graduating as a medical doctor from the University of Zambia, I worked in both clinical and nonclinical settings. In public health, I have worked at the national level in Emergency Preparedness and Response at the Zambia National Public Health Institute. I currently sit in the Medical Women’s International Association Special Interest Group on Climate Change and Health. Outside of medicine, I’m the director of Climate Justice Foundation, a local NGO that teaches green literacy with a focus on children and young people in Zambia.

Research interests or career goals

My interests span climate health and sustainable implementation and finance. I am currently investigating the effect of climate change on climate sensitive infectious diseases, extreme weather events and its effect on maternal healthcare access. I aspire to pursue a role that serves Sub-Saharan populations in evidence generation and implementation.

Why I chose LSHTM/my programme

For me, LSHTM has always been a beacon for evidence-based public health in hospitals and in the community. In addition, the nexus of climate change and health may seem new to most but this field needs to bloom. LSHTM saw this growing need and designed the climate change and planetary health master’s program, and it spoke the language I have been hearing in my heart!

LSHTM provides a diverse cohort of students, many of whom become close acquaintances. Here at LSHTM, we say more than half of the learning comes from speaking to your fellow students and that rings true every single day.

Extra information

I am an LSHTM 2025/26 scholar and would be happy to share insights on the application process. I also advocate for refugees' and former refugees’ inequalities, and would be happy to discuss this, too.
