Educational/professional background

I completed my BS in biology at Northeastern Illinois University in the USA. I went on to work as a medical assistant for COVID response and later switched to working in dermatology at NorthShore University HealthSystem in Chicago.

Research interests or career goals

While working in clinical settings, I gained an interest in the issues surrounding access to healthcare, particularly with patients living with non-communicable chronic diseases.

Why I chose LSHTM/my programme

I chose the MSc Epidemiology program as I wanted to link my interests in clinical medicine with research and data science. My goals in this program are to strengthen my methods of statistical analyses and to become proficient in the use of statistical programming software. My research interests lie broadly in chronic NCDs, and I hope to narrow down my interests as I learn more through this program.

I chose LSHTM because of its strong epidemiology program and its worldwide recognition for public health studies. I am honored to be able to learn from leading experts in the field. I also chose LSHTM due to its incredible diversity. The ability to meet and learn from staff and students from all over the world has enhanced my educational experience thus far.
