Educational/professional background
Building on my background in veterinary medicine, I worked in both clinical and field settings, where I saw firsthand how infectious diseases move between animals and people. Completing an MSc in Veterinary Public Health broadened my understanding of disease patterns and health systems, eventually leading me to my doctoral work at LSHTM.
Research interests or career goals
My PhD uses dynamic modelling to explore how different interventions could influence the dynamics of tuberculosis in Nigeria, drawing on epidemiological and health economic data. I’m also interested in how cross-species transmission shapes disease patterns. I hope to contribute to evidence-informed policies that strengthen infectious disease control across health systems.
Why I chose LSHTM/my programme
LSHTM is truly the ideal place to be, its strength in infectious disease epidemiology, particularly in the TB Modelling Group, made it an obvious choice. It’s inspiring to learn from leading experts and be part of a community committed to tackling major global health challenges, especially in LMICs.

I’m happy to speak with prospective students about linking clinical experience with public health, navigating life as an international Nigerian student, and exploring infectious disease modelling.
