Educational/professional background

I completed my B.S. in Biology at the College of William & Mary in the United States. After graduating, I worked as a medical scribe and medical assistant in New York City, which gave me valuable insight into the expanding role of data in patient care. Seeing how electronic health records support decision-making made me realize the importance of robust health data analysis. This motivated me to pursue MSc Medical Statistics to learn how to analyze and apply medical data to advance clinical practice and population health research.

Research interests or career goals

I am particularly interested in pharmacoepidemiology, hearing health, and developing strategies to address the global primary-care crisis. After graduating, I aim to gain hands-on experience in clinical trials research in the US, UK, or EU to better understand how new therapies move from evidence to practice. Long term, I plan to attend medical school and work as a physician-scientist within precision medicine.

Why I chose LSHTM/my programme

I chose LSHTM for its global leadership in public health and its long history of training medical statisticians who collaborate closely with clinicians and researchers. LSHTM is an exceptional place to study and offers the perfect environment to build the expertise needed to lead innovation in both medicine and public health.

Extra information

I'm happy to provide insight into studying at LSHTM, and what it is like transitioning from a biomedical background into medical statistics.
