Educational/professional background
I hold an undergraduate degree in Public Health from the University of Washington (USA), where I intentionally tailored my coursework to complement a pathway into physiotherapy. My experience working in pediatric physical therapy was formative; while I valued the direct patient interaction, it made me increasingly aware of the systemic forces that shape individual health outcomes. This exposure sharpened my interest in the broader structural determinants of health—particularly how social and societal inequities influence access to care and overall well-being.
Research interests or career goals
I chose to pursue an MSc Public Health, with the Health Economics stream, because I recognized that advanced training would equip me with the analytical skills, methodological tools, and global perspective necessary to contribute to change at a population level. Ultimately, my goal is to play an active role in designing and implementing equitable health programs and policies that address the root causes of health disparities rather than only their symptoms.
Why I chose LSHTM/my programme
LSHTM stood out to me because of its longstanding reputation for shaping world-class leaders in global health. I was particularly drawn to the diversity of its student body, where professionals from around the world bring unique perspectives and lived experiences into the classroom.
