Educational/professional background

I am a current NIHR Academic Clinical Fellow at LSHTM in paediatric infectious diseases.

I hold a first-class BSc in Pharmacology and an MBBS from Imperial College London, where I received both a President's Scholarship and a Dean's List prize. During medical school, I conducted research at Harvard Medical School/Massachusetts General Hospital, and Tokyo Medical and Dental University. Furthermore, I completed an elective at the Malawi-Liverpool-Wellcome Trust Clinical Research Programme in cerebral malaria and fatal COVID-19.

Following graduation from medical school, I moved to Liverpool for an academic foundation post with the Brain Infections Group. After receiving an NIHR Master's Scholarship, I began studying Tropical Medicine and International Health (TMIH) at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine in 2024, graduating with a distinction. Following the completion of my MSc, I was awarded a British Infection Association grant to support my research in migrant health.

What I enjoyed most about studying my programme/at LSHTM

The TMIH MSc allowed me to develop extensive knowledge in the pathophysiology, diagnosis and management of infectious diseases through the Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (DTM&H), whilst giving me a unique breadth of study to explore my interest in epidemiology and data analysis in the master's modules. I really enjoyed joining the diverse and dynamic LSHTM community and meeting others who are also passionate about advancing global human health.

What I have been doing since graduating

Supported by the British Infection Association, I spent the year after completing my MSc conducting research on the mortality of migrants in England using the NHS Secure Data Environment (SDE) platform, as a member of the CVD-COVID-UK/COVID-IMPACT consortium. More recently, I have been awarded an NIHR Academic Clinical Fellow post at LSHTM, combining my clinical training in paediatrics with dedicated research time to explore my interests in both neuroinfection and migrant health.

Extra information

I couldn’t recommend studying at LSHTM more and would be happy to answer any questions about the TMIH course.
