I completed my undergraduate in Genetics at University of Leeds in 2025 before coming to LSHTM.
Research interests or career goals
From my undergraduate degree I have a real interest in the molecular biology of microorganisms, in particular viruses. I am hoping that my time at LSHTM allows me to find a particular topic/microorganism that I am really passionate about. I would like to continue doing research after this master's, investigating the pathogens that cause significant impacts on global health.
Why I chose LSHTM/my programme
I chose LSHTM because I was drawn to the diversity of topics that are covered within microbiology as well as the many opportunities for lab based practical work. LSHTM itself is a well renowned institution with many impressive researchers and a vibrant, diverse community which makes it a fantastic place to study. Additionally, the MSc Medical Microbiology course is a small cohort which I wanted, to help develop closer relationships with my peers.
