Educational/professional background

I am a medical doctor from India (MBBS, MD, DNB in Community Medicine) and currently work as a Senior Public Health Practitioner with Hampshire County Council, UK. My work focuses on tobacco control, contributing to healthier communities and supporting the ambition for a Smokefree 2030 generation.

Research interests or career goals

My professional and research interests focus on tobacco control, health promotion, and reducing health inequalities through community-based interventions. I am particularly interested in designing and evaluating programs that empower communities, inform policy, and create sustainable improvements in public health.

Why I chose LSHTM/my programme

I chose LSHTM because of its exceptional academic standing and global influence in public health. Its pivotal role in shaping international health policy deeply resonated with my professional aspirations. My time at LSHTM was truly transformative—an intellectually stimulating environment, world-class teaching, and exposure to cutting-edge public health debates significantly enhanced my analytical and critical thinking skills. Equally enriching was the diverse LSHTM community, which offered invaluable opportunities to engage with a wide range of perspectives and experiences. Learning alongside peers from across the world broadened my understanding of public health in both local and global contexts.

Extra information

I would be delighted to advise prospective students on the MSc Public Health programme, making the most of the LSHTM experience, and exploring career pathways in public health post-graduation.
