Student | Full-time | United KingdomMSc Medical Microbiology
Educational/professional background
I graduated from the University of Sheffield in the summer of 2025 with a BSc in Biomedical Science, where I gained a fundamental framework for laboratory work and furthered my research ability.
Research interests or career goals
Personally, I am interested in a whole host of topics, with the list expanding as I learn more. One of my current interests is the clinical side of microbiology, with identification through lab work and the clinical presentation of disease. I find it deeply fascinating how pathogens cause disease and interact with humans, and how such small things can cause such a huge and cascading response.
Why I chose LSHTM/my programme
I decided to pursue an MSc Medical Microbiology in order to gain more practical experience in my field of interest, as the undergraduate degree I took was broader and lacked the physical skills needed to stand out. LSHTM has been my dream university ever since I first heard of it during my undergrad due to the rich and diverse community it has, with many professionals across the globe. Furthermore, everyone there shares a close interest in health and diseases, which is something that other places lack, as most universities are more non-specific, and LSHTM itself is at the forefront of its research.
