Educational/professional background

I am from a small town in Wisconsin and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Global Health from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, in 2022. While I was initially interested in pursuing medicine, I became increasingly interested in "working upstream" in the public health world as I took more global health courses during my undergraduate degree. I worked as a research fellow with the Midwest Center of Excellence for Vector-Borne Diseases throughout my time at UW-Madison researching ticks and Lyme disease. After obtaining my BS degree, I worked remotely as a research analyst with a healthcare consulting firm.

Research interests or career goals

I'm incredibly interested in sexual and reproductive health, as well as infectious diseases. The relationship between gender and disease is fascinating to me, and I'm eager to engage with these topics both in my course and beyond. I look forward to a career that has a direct, positive impact on individuals and communities.

Extra information

I'm happy to discuss my experience as an international student, transitioning from remote work to in-person schooling, and moving from a rural community to a large, urban area. I'd love to hear any questions you have and learn more about your interests!
